  • Open May 3 through May 12, 2 days/week (Sunday and Tuesday).
  • If sufficient quota remains, on May 17 the primary fishery will be open on Sundays only until the quota is achieved or September 27, whichever occurs first.
  • The northern nearshore area will be open  Thursdays through Sundays and  Tuesdays only during the primary season.  After the primary season the northern nearshore fishery will be open Thursdays through Sundays only until the nearshore quota is reached or until September 27, whichever is first.
  • The northern nearshore area is the waters from 47° 25.00’ N latitude (Queets River) south to 46° 58.00’ N latitude and east of 124° 30.00’ W longitude.

Bottomfish Restriction Areas

Recreational fishing for bottomfish is prohibited seaward of a boundary line approximating the 30-fm (55-m) depth contour from March 15, 2009, through June 15, 2009 except that retention of sablefish and Pacific cod is permitted seaward of the 30-fm (55-m) depth contour May 1 through June 15.

It is prohibited to fish for, retain, or possess bottomfish and halibut in the South Coast YRCA and the Westport Offshore YRCA.

South Coast YRCA coordinates are as follows:

  • 46° 58’ N. Latitude; 124° 48’ W. Longitude;
  • 46° 55’ N. Latitude; 124° 48’ W. Longitude;
  • 46° 55’ N. Latitude; 124° 49’ W. Longitude;
  • 46° 58’ N. Latitude; 124° 49’ W. Longitude.

Westport Offshore YRCA coordinates are as follows:

  • 46° 54.30’ N. Latitude; 124° 53.40’ W. Longitude;
  • 46° 54.30’ N. Latitude; 124° 51.00’ W. Longitude;
  • 46° 53.30’ N. Latitude; 124° 51.00’ W. Longitude;
  • 46° 53.30’ N. Latitude; 124° 53.40’ W. Longitude.

The retention of lingcod is prohibited south of 46°58 N. Lat. and seaward of 30 fathoms on Fridays and Saturdays from July 1 through August 31.

The retention of canary and yelloweye rockfish is prohibited.
