Pear

The trail starts out through beautiful hemlock and silver fir and reaches Top Lake in about 4.5 miles. Along the way enjoy nice views of Glacier Peak to the north and meadows full of flowers and berries during peak season. Pear lake is 1.5 miles beyond Top lake. Pear has nice sandy beaches and provides anglers with quality fishing for the Rainbow Trout. There are a few campsites around the lake for an overnight adventure.

Getting here:

Drive US 2 aprox. 5 miles east of Stevens Pass to left had turn through the barrier that seperates the east bound and west bound lanes to reach the Smithbrook road. Follow Smithbrook road number 6700 to 6701-500 and follow to trail head aprrox 22 miles from US 2. Restroom available at trail head.

Fishing prospects calendar

Rainbow trout

Fishing success for Rainbow Trout is generally best in the spring when thousands of fish are stocked statewide, but they can be caught year-round in most waters with a little patience and persistence. Success remains high into June and gradually declines as water temperatures increase and fish move offshore to stay cool. Fish that escaped the spring harvest return to the nearshore areas in the fall as waters cool off. Some waters may also be stocked again in the fall further boosting catch rates.
