Slide Lake

Slide Lake holds a healthy population of Coastal Cutthroat Trout with the occasional Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout also caught. There is good shoreline access available so it's easy to fish from the bank. Spinners and spoons are good bets for catching fish. There are a handful of campsites at the lake for overnight camping.

Getting here:

Trail: The Slide Lake Trail is slightly more than one mile long, maintaining a gentle grade for its entire length, making it a pleasant, easy family hike. The trail enters Glacier Peak Wilderness and winds through dense old growth forest and huge boulder patches to Slide Lake at 3,100-feet elevation.

Driving: From Sedro-Woolley, follow State Route 20 east for 31.0 miles to Rockport. Turn right (south) at the east end of town on Highway 530 heading toward Darrington. Continue on Highway 530 for two miles to the junction of the Illabot Creek Forest Service road 16. Turn left on FS road 16 and proceed for 22 miles to the trailhead. The trail is on the right (north) side of the road.
