Twin Sisters - Little

The smaller sister in the Twin Sisters lakes, but at 40 plus acres a good sized lake in its own right. Some of the shoreline is shallow, but shore fishing can still be effective for small to medium sized eastern Brook Trout. The lake is surrounded by flowering meadows that also include many small water features; beautiful - but also mosquito prone in the summer. Bring your mosquito repellent! Several well established campsites are available, and the area can be quite popular on the weekend with both hikers and equestrians.

Getting here:

From 410/Chinook Pass Hwy turn onto the Bumping River Road & in 12 miles at the Bumping Campground continue on dirt road FS Rd #1800. At the junction take the left fork (FS Rd #1808) continuing on this road to the end. Walk to the Twin Sisters Trail Head #980 located in the Deep Creek Campground. Hike approx. 1.5 miles to the Twin Sisters Lakes.

Fishing prospects calendar

Rainbow trout

Fishing success for Rainbow Trout is generally best in the spring when thousands of fish are stocked statewide, but they can be caught year-round in most waters with a little patience and persistence. Success remains high into June and gradually declines as water temperatures increase and fish move offshore to stay cool. Fish that escaped the spring harvest return to the nearshore areas in the fall as waters cool off. Some waters may also be stocked again in the fall further boosting catch rates.
