2010 Cowlitz River recreational smelt season to start Feb. 6

Species affected: Smelt

Effective dates: Feb. 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2010.

Action: Open Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Location: Cowlitz River.

Daily Limit: 10-pound daily limit. Possession limit is equal to one daily limit.

Reason for action: The season is consistent with a Level 1 fishery, in accordance with the Washington and Oregon Eulachon Management Plan.
