Amend recreational fishing rules for Kids Fishing event
at Tracy Owen Station at Log Boom Park

Action: Opens fishing in temporary net pens in Lake Washington at Tracy Owen Station at Log Boom Park to youth anglers participating in the Northshore Chapter of Trout Unlimited Kids Fishing event from 8 a.m. to noon on June 4.

Effective Date: June 4, 2016

Species affected: Rainbow trout

Location: Tracy Owen Station at Log Boom Park, Lake Washington, King County

Reasons for action: This rule change is necessary to assure a successful Kids Fishing event. Only registered youth anglers will be permitted to fish in the net pen.

Other information: The Kids Fishing event is sponsored by the Northshore Chapter Trout Unlimited and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW). The event offers children, who would otherwise not get the chance, an opportunity to participate and learn about fishing. After the event, the nets and fish will be removed by the Northshore Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

Lake Washington remains closed to all fishing for the public. More information is available online at http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/pugetsound_salmon_update/.

Information Contact: For information on how you can participate in the event, please visit Northshore Chapter of Trout Unlimited Facebook page, or contact Chris Tompkins (206) 948-7291 or Steve Winder (425) 750-0946.

For information about this rule change, please contact Justin Spinelli, WDFW Regional Fish Biologist, (360) 466-4345 ext. 242 or Justin.Spinelli@dfw.wa.gov.
