September 2, 2010
Action: Close fishing for all fish species in Capitol Lake.
Location: Capitol Lake (Thurston Co.)
Effective dates: Sept. 3, 2010 until further notice.
Species affected: All fish.
Reason for action: This rule is necessary to prevent the spread of New Zealand mudsnails, an invasive species that is present in the lake. Mudsnails are easily transported on shoes, boots, and fishing gear to which they may attach themselves. This rule formally closes the lake to fishing for all fish, consistent with an existing public access closure. The lake was closed to salmon angling earlier this year.
