Chinook daily limits increase to 2 fish in Marine Area 9

August 13, 2020

Action: Allows retention of up to 2 hatchery Chinook.

Effective date: Aug. 7 through Aug. 15, 2020

Species affected: Chinook salmon

Location: Marine Area 9 waters north a line from Foulweather Bluff to Olele Point.

Rule: Salmon; Chinook – min. size 22". Other salmon species - no min. size. Daily limit 2. Release chum, wild coho, and wild Chinook.

Reason for action: Sufficient recreational harvest quota remains available to allow for an increased daily limit of Chinook. Current projections indicate the fishery will remain within allowed ESA impacts.
