Action: Closes retention of hatchery Chinook in Area 10, except Elliott Bay, Sinclair Inlet, and specifically identified fishing piers.
Effective Date: Effective 12:01 a.m. Sunday July 29, 2007.
Species affected: Chinook salmon.
Location: Marine Area 10 (Bremerton/Seattle), except Inner Elliott Bay Fishery, Sinclair Inlet Fishery, Elliott Bay Fishing Pier, Seacrest Pier, Waterman Pier, Bremerton Boardwalk, and Illahee State Park Pier.
Reason for action: Estimates indicate that the Chinook quota will be harvested by the end of the day July 28.
Other information: Area 10 remains open to salmon fishing for coho, pink, and sockeye. Pink salmon catches should be on the increase. Single-point barbless hooks are no longer required. However, barbless hooks are still required. Elliott Bay, Sinclair Inlet, Edmonds Public Fishing Pier, Elliott Bay Fishing Pier, Seacrest Pier, Waterman Pier, Bremerton Boardwalk, and Illahee State Park Pier are regulated under separate rules. Anglers should consult the Fishing in Washington, Sports Fishing Rules pamphlet for specific regulations in those areas.
