Chinook Salmon daily limit change in
Marine Areas 1 and 2

Action: Anglers can only keep 1 chinook as part of their 2 salmon daily limit in marine areas 1 and 2, release wild coho.

Effective Dates: Aug. 14, 2011 until further notice.

Species affected: Salmon

Location: Marine areas 1 and 2

Reason for Action: Chinook catch rates have been higher than expected. Reduction in the Chinook daily limit is needed to ensure the coastal salmon fishery meets the season objectives.

Other information: Marine Areas 1, 3, and 4 are open to fishing 7 days per week.
