Location: Columbia Park Pond at Columbia Park in Kennewick.

Reason for action: This rule change is necessary to ensure safe and successful youth fishing events. The fish will be planted prior to the events to better acclimate them before the events. On the day of the events, pre-registered anglers will be allowed to fish.

Other Information: These fishing events have been held at Columbia Park Pond for the past 18 years. The events this year will bring out more than 1,400 registered youths and anglers with special needs to introduce them to the fun of fishing. The pond re-opens to the public on Saturday, April 13, at 5:01 p.m.

Columbia Park Pond is open only to fishing by juvenile anglers (ages 14 and under), seniors, and adults with a disability who have a designated harvester companion card. Register online at the ARC of the Tri-Cities (https://arcoftricities.com/events/fishing-day) for the "Special Needs Fishing Event," or with Kennewick Parks & Recreation (https://apm.activecommunities.com/kennewick/Activity_Search/) for the Saturday "Kids' Fishing Day."
