Columbia River from Brewster to Bridgeport closes to triploid rainbow trout fishing

Action: Close mainstem Columbia River from Hwy 173 Bridge in Brewster to Hwy 17 Bridge in Bridgeport to fishing for triploid rainbow trout.

Effective Date: 12:01 a.m. Aug. 27, 2011

Species affected: Triploid rainbow trout

Location: The mainstem Columbia River from Hwy 173 Bridge in Brewster to Hwy 17 Bridge in Bridgeport.

Other information: Current salmon and other gamefish seasons will remain the same as currently listed in the 2011-2012 sportfishing rules pamphlet.

Reason for action: Steelhead numbers passing Wells Dam have increased in recent days. The triploid fishery will close in order to minimize impacts to natural origin steelhead.
