closes below Bonneville Dam



Action: Close the spring Chinook recreational fishery below Bonneville Dam

Effective Date: 12:01 a.m. Monday April 21,2008

Location: Hayden Island west powerlines upstream to Bonneville Dam.

Species affected: Chinook, steelhead and shad.

Reason for action: The recreational spring Chinook fishery in the area below Bonneville Dam is expected to reach the ESA- impact limit set aside specifically for the fishery prior to the scheduled closure date of May 1.

Additional information: Regulations for shad and steelhead retention below Bonneville Dam will revert to permanent regulations. Check the "Fishing in Washington" pamphlet for details. The area above Bonneville Dam is scheduled to remain open through May 10, 2008.
