Action: Re-opens the chinook and steelhead season on the mainstem Columbia River downstream of the Oregon/Washington state line.
Species affected: Chinook, steelhead, and shad
Effective dates: May 13 through May 15, 2016.
Area: The mainstem Columbia River from Tongue Point/Rocky Point line upstream to Bonneville Dam.
Sanctuary: Closed to all angling inside the area defined by a line from a marker on the lower end of Bachelor Island through USGC buoy Red #4 to the Oregon shore, downstream to a line from the lower (north) end of Sauvie Island across to the downstream range marker (0.7 miles downstream of the Lewis River) and continuing along the wing jetty to the Washington Shore.
Restrictions: Closed to fishing for salmonids and shad from boats between Beacon Rock and Bonneville Dam. The Beacon Rock boundary is defined as a line projected from the deadline marker on the Oregon bank (approximately four miles downstream from Bonneville Dam Powerhouse 1) through the western tip of Pierce Island to a deadline marker on the Washington bank at Beacon Rock.

Area: The mainstem Columbia River from the Tower Island power lines (approximately 6 miles below The Dalles Dam) upstream to Oregon/Washington border, plus the Oregon and Washington banks between Bonneville Dam and the Tower Island power lines.
Reason for action: Harvestable numbers of hatchery salmon remain available based on the updated forecast of 188,800 fish, associated management agreements, and harvest estimates to date.
