Columbia River sturgeon fishery extended in
The Dalles Pool

Action: Extends the retention period of legal-size white sturgeon beyond the scheduled July 31 closure date.

Location: Waters of the Columbia River and tributaries from The Dalles Dam upstream to John Day Dam.

Species affected: White sturgeon

Effective Dates: Aug. 1, 2013 until further notice

Daily Limit: One white sturgeon between 43-54 inches in fork length.

Reason for action: A balance of nearly 200 white sturgeon remain on the recreational harvest guideline (300 fish) for The Dalles Pool.
