Daily limit of 6 hatchery adult coho
reinstated on lower Columbia tributaries
Action: The daily catch limit for hatchery adult coho salmon will revert back to permanent regulations beginning Dec. 9.
Species affected: Adult coho.
Locations:
Deep River,
Grays River (including West Fork),
Elochoman River,
Cowlitz River,
Tilton River,
Mayfield Lake (Reservoir),
Cispus River,
Lake Scanewa (Cowlitz Falls Reservoir),
Kalama River,
Lewis River (including North Fork),
Washougal River,
Klickitat River.
Other information: Except for the Klickitat River and Mayfield Lake, the salmon daily limit is 6 fish of which no more than 2 may be adult chinook. Release wild coho. Except for Deep River and the Lewis River (including North Fork), release wild chinook.
On the lower Klickitat River, the salmon daily limit is 6 fish of which no more than 3 may be adult chinook. Any chinook or coho, adipose fin clipped or not, may be retained. At Mayfield Lake, no more than 2 hatchery adults may be retained.
All other permanent rules remain in effect.
Reason for action: Lower Columbia adult coho hatchery broodstock goals have been met. Restricting anglers to 1 adult coho per day is no longer necessary.
