Enchantment Park Ponds – name and season change
Actions: Enchantment Park Ponds has been renamed Blackbird Island Pond. The pond will be closed to fishing March 20 through June 14, 2009. It will reopen under permanent rule June 15, 2009.
Effective dates: The pond will be closed to fishing starting one hour before sunrise on March 20, 2009 through June 14, 2009.
Species affected: Steelhead and resident trout.
Locations: Adjacent to the Wenatchee River, on the city of Leavenworth's Blackbird Island
Reason for action: The original Enchantment Park Ponds now named Blackbird Island Pond has been reconstructed for use as both a hatchery steelhead acclimation pond and juvenile angler's pond. From mid March until mid June the pond will be used for steelhead acclimation. After all steelhead have left the pond WDFW will stock trout to provide angling opportunity for juvenile anglers (under 15 years of age) only.
