Entiat River summer Chinook fishery boundary extension

July 18, 2023

Action: Extends the upstream salmon fishing boundary to the Mad River Road Bridge.

Effective date: One hour before official sunrise Aug. 1, to one hour after official sunset on Sept. 30, 2023.

Species affected: Chinook salmon.

Location: Entiat River (Chelan County); from the mouth (railroad bridge) to Mad River Rd. Bridge (near Ardenvoir). (Catch Record Card Code 586).

Salmon Rules: Minimum size is 12 inches. Daily limit is six. Release all salmon other than Chinook. Night closure in effect.

Reason for action: Current returns indicate broodstock goals for Entiat River Chinook will be met and that a harvestable surplus exists. This action increases harvest opportunity for summer Chinook returning to the Entiat River.

Additional information:  All other Entiat River rules remain in effect. Please see the 2023/24 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet for additional rules. Anglers may be notified of any emergency Fishing Rule Changes, as they are announced, by signing up for email notifications at https://wdfw.wa.gov/about/lists.
