Fishing for halibut will reopen for five days
in Neah Bay and LaPush areas
Action: Open recreational fishing for Pacific halibut in the northern coastal waters for five days.
Effective date: 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, June 15 through 11:59 p.m. Saturday, June 19.
Species affected: Pacific halibut
Location: Marine Catch Record Areas 3 and 4, which extend from the Queets River north to the Canadian border and inside the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the Sekiu River.
Reason for action: There is sufficient quota to reopen the fishery for five days beginning June 15 in Catch Record Card
Areas 3 and 4.
Other information: Halibut fishing will remain open in Ilwaco, Westport and Puget Sound east of the Sekiu River. Hood Canal will remain closed to halibut fishing until further notice.
