Fishing restrictions lifted on Washougal River

September 2, 2015

Action: The restrictions implemented on the Washougal River in mid-July due to high water temperatures have been lifted and regulations will revert back to permanent rules.

Effective Dates: Immediately

Species affected: All species including salmon and steelhead

Location: Washougal River from the mouth upstream to the Salmon Falls Bridge

Reason for action: With the recent weather change, river flows and temperature are similar to average fall conditions on the Washougal River. These conditions are not expected to change considerably for the rest of the season.

Other information: Permanent rules are listed in the "Fishing in Washington" pamphlet.

Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the fishery. Check the WDFW "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on definitions and regulations. Fishing rules are subject to change. Visit wdfw.wa.gov/fishing-hotlines to find a list of mobile, web, print, or customer service phone options for the latest rule information.
