Fishing season and gear restrictions to change
on portions of Crab Creek near Moses Lake
Action: 1) Fishing remains open in those waters of Crab Creek and tributaries upstream from State Highway 17 to Grant County Road 7.
Effective date: 12:01 a.m. March 1, 2003 until further notice.
Action: 2) Terminal gear is restricted to one single hook measuring 3/4" or less from point to shank in those waters from Grant County Road 7 downstream to the fountain buoy and shoreline markers or 150 feet downstream of the Alder Street fill, and from Moses Lake downstream to the confluence of the outlet streams.
Effective date: 12:01 a.m. March 1 through 11:59 p.m. May 31, 2003.
Species affected:All species.
Reason for action:The change for this section of Crab Creek had been approved as part of the recently adopted 2003/2004 sportfishing rules pamphlet, which takes effect May 1. This action allows anglers the opportunity to harvest walleye above State Highway 17 during March and April. The gear restriction will aid in controlling illegal harvest activities during the spawning run of walleyes.
