Gilchrist Pond (Whitman County) temporarily closed to fishing for Fishing Kids youth fishing clinic

Action: Gilchrist Pond will be closed to fishing for three days to protect catchable trout stocked specifically for the Fishing Kids fishing clinic, which begins a 9:00 a.m. Saturday June 17.

Effective date: 8:00 a.m. Wednesday June 14 until 9:00 a.m. Saturday June 17, 2006

Species affected: All species

Location: Gilchrist Pond located in Whitman County approximately six miles southwest of Colfax, off of Union Flat Road.

Reason for action: Eliminate premature harvest of catch-able trout dedicated to the Fishing Kids event.
