Goose Creek within Wilbur city limits opens one week early

April 6, 2021

Action: Opens the game fish season on Goose Creek one week early within the Wilbur city limits only.

Effective date: Open 7 days per week May 22 through May 28, 2021.

Species affected: All game fish.

Location: That section of Goose Creek (Lincoln County) located within the Wilbur city limits.

Fishery Rules: Statewide minimum size/daily limit. Open for juvenile anglers, senior anglers, and anglers with a disability who possess a designated harvester companion card only.

Reason for action: Opening the fishing season a week early will allow anglers (those described in the Fishery Rules) to fish within the permitted enclosed portion of Goose Creek containing stocked trout (from a private vendor). This will allow for maximum harvest of stocked fish prior to the required enclosure removal date.

Additional information: Juvenile anglers, senior anglers, and anglers with a disability who possess a designated harvester companion card are encouraged to harvest the maximum number of stocked trout allowed within the rules. Besides the change in season dates, all other fishing rules remain the same as during open game fish seasons in the permanent rules.
