Hood Park Pond closed to fishing
prior to youth fishing event

Action: Temporary closure of Hood Park Pond to public fishing (near the mouth of the Snake River) to allow for a kids fishing event.

Species affected: Game fish

Dates: April 20 through April 23, 2011.

Reason for action: A kids fishing event is planned for April 23 and a closure to the general public is needed to ensure adequate numbers of fish are available for the kids fishing day. Hood Park Pond will be closed to the general public on April 20 through 22 and open only to juvenile anglers (under age 15) during April 23. The pond reopens to the general public on April 24.

Other Information: Regulations consistent with the fishing pamphlet will resume on April 24.

Anglers are reminded to refer to the 2010/2011 Fishing in Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet (in effect through April 30, 2011), and the new 2011/2012 sport fishing rules pamphlet (in effect May 1, 2011) for other regulations, including safety closures.
