“Hoot Owl” fishing restrictions removed
on select Yakima Basin Rivers

Actions: Remove 2:00 p.m. to midnight closure ("Hoot Owl" hours) for game fish in select areas

Effective date: Immediately

Species affected: All Gamefish (trout, whitefish, etc.)

Locations:

1) Naches River from Tieton River to Bumping River/Little Naches River

2) Rattlesnake Creek

3) Yakima River from I-82 Bridge at Union Gap to the South Cle Elum Bridge

Reason for action: Cooler weather and recent precipitation in the Cascades have reduced water temperatures. Environmental conditions now support removing hoot-owl restrictions.
