Kennedy Creek mouth opens for chum salmon

Action: Opens salmon retention

Effective date: Nov. 5 through Nov. 30, 2022

Species affected: Salmon

Location: Kennedy Creek (Mason Co.) from the mouth (500 yards east of the northbound Hwy. 101 Bridge) to northbound Hwy. 101 Bridge. CRC (754)

Rule: Salmon; minimum size 12”. Daily limit is two. Release wild Chinook salmon and wild coho salmon.

Reason for action: Chum salmon returns have exceeded preseason projections and are large enough to allow recreational chum salmon retention while still meeting escapement goals.

Additional information: Chum salmon retention is also allowed in portions of Marine Area 13 beginning Nov. 5.
