Reason for action: This rule change is necessary to assure a successful Safety Day event. Several thousand fish will be placed into netted areas along the west end of the lake, near the boat ramp, two days prior to the event to allow the fish to acclimate to their new surroundings and provide a better fishing experience. On the day of the event, kids ages 14 and under will be allowed to fish in the netted area as part of the Safety Day program. The pond will not re-open to the public until 6:00 p.m. on May 8.
Other Information: This is the second year the event has been held, but the first year the lake will be closed to public fishing to accommodate the special activities. The public is welcomed to attend.
