Lake Wenatchee sockeye fishery closes

Action: Lake Wenatchee closes for sockeye salmon fishing

Effective date/time: Aug. 15, 2008 one hour after official sunset

Species affected: Sockeye salmon.

Location: Lake Wenatchee (Chelan Co.)

Reason for action: Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife estimates that sockeye available for harvest (those in excess of the natural spawning escapement goal of 23,000 fish) will have been caught and removed from the lake by one hour after official sunset on August 15.
