Left ventral fin clipped fall chinook allowed during lower Columbia
mainstem mark selective fisheries

Action: Left ventral fin clipped fall chinook allowed on the mainstem Columbia below Bonneville Dam through the end of the year.

Species affected: Chinook

Effective dates: Aug. 1 through Dec. 31, 2016

Location: Mainstem Columbia from Bonneville Dam downstream to Buoy 10

Other information: During any mark selective fisheries for fall chinook on the lower Columbia mainstem, both adipose and/or left ventral fin clipped chinook may be retained. This includes Buoy 10 on Sundays and Mondays through Labor Day and from the Rocky Point/Tongue Point line upstream to the Warrior Rock line from Sept. 10 through Sept.14.

A hatchery chinook is defined as having a clipped adipose fin or a clipped left ventral fin. A healed scar at the location of the clipped fin is required.

Reason for action: This will allow the harvest of additional hatchery fall chinook.
