Long’s Pond in Lacey closes to public for Kids Fish-in

Action: Close Long's Pond to fishing by the public on June 12 for a one day kids fishing event. The pond will re-open to public after the event for the remainder of the day.

Effective date:

June 12 - 12:01 a.m., entire pond closed to public fishing

June 12 - 2 p.m. pond re-opens to the public

Location: Long's Pond is located at the Lacey Community Center in Lacey, Washington.

Species affected: Trout and other game fish.

Reason for action: This rule change is necessary to ensure a safe and successful Kids Fish-In event; the Shelton School District Special Services DD Program as hosted by the Lacey Community Center, Lacey, WA.

Other Information: The event this year will bring in over 65 registered kids, Certified Educators, Certified Educational Assistants, Fishing Mentors (Puget Sound Angler's Organization), local Fire/Aid/Police Agencies providing public service to the kids, as well as their families and volunteers.
