Lower Humptulips River winter steelhead season extended

Actions: The winter steelhead season on the lower Humptulips River will be extended through March 16, 2003.

Effective date: March 1, 2003 through March 16, 2003

Species affected: Steelhead

Location: Humptulips River, from its mouth (Jessie Slough) to the Highway 101 bridge.

Reason for action: Significant hatchery-origin winter steelhead harvest opportunity exists due to the good hatchery run this season.

Other Information: Wild steelhead release remains in effect. Anglers are permitted to harvest hatchery-origin (adipose or ventral-fin clipped and a healed scar in the location of the missing fin) steelhead only.
