Marine Area 11 salmon fishing opens June 5

Action: Open salmon fishing season.

Effective date: June 5 through June 30, 2024.

Species affected: Salmon.

Location: Marine Area 11 (Tacoma-Vashon Island) except Commencement Bay, see additional information below.

Rules: Open Wednesday through Saturday of each week. Closed Sunday through Tuesday of each week. Chinook minimum size is 22 inches. All other salmon species, no minimum size. Daily limit is two (2) including no more than one (1) hatchery Chinook may be retained. Release chum and wild Chinook.  

Reason for action: Salmon fishing in Marine Area 11 will begin June 5, 2024, as agreed upon with co-managers during the 2024 North of Falcon season setting process.

Additional information: Commencement Bay closed to salmon fishing east of a line bearing 215 degree true from the Cliff House Restaurant on north shore through Sperry Ocean Dock from June 1 through July 31. Season may be adjusted or closed if catch or encounters approach allowable limits.
