Ocean salmon seasons to open June 22

Action: Opens coastal salmon seasons.

Effective date: June 22 through June 30, 2019.

Species affected: Salmon.

Location: Marine Areas 1 through 4.

Reason for action: This rule change is needed to implement coastal salmon seasons as agreed-to with resource co-managers at the North of Falcon proceedings.

Salmon rules by area:

Marine Area 1: Daily limit 2; up to 1 Chinook may be retained. Chinook min. size 24", coho min. size 16". Release wild coho.

Marine Area 2: Daily limit 2; up to 1 Chinook may be retained. Chinook min. size 24", coho min. size 16". Release wild coho.

Marine Area 2-1 (Willapa Bay): Daily limit 2; up to 1 Chinook may be retained. Chinook min. size 24", coho min. size 16". Release wild coho.

Marine Area 2-2 (Grays Harbor) east of buoy 13 line: Closed.

Marine Area 2-2 (Grays Harbor) west of buoy 13 line: Daily limit 2; up to 1 Chinook may be retained. Chinook min. size 24", coho min. size 16". Release wild coho.

Marine Area 3: Daily limit 2. Chinook min. size 24", coho min. size 16". Release wild coho.

Marine Area 4: Daily limit 2. Chinook min. size 24", coho min. size 16". Release wild coho. Waters east of a true north-south line through Sail Rock are closed.
