Razor clam dig on 4 ocean beaches
approved for Thanksgiving holiday
Action: Open Razor clam season
Effective dates: Nov. 23 through Nov. 26, 2007
Species affected: Razor clams
Location: The following beaches will be open for razor clam digging between noon and midnight on these days:
Friday, Nov. 23 (5:21 p.m. -1.3) all beaches (except Kalaloch)
Saturday, Nov. 24 (6:11 p.m. -1.7) all beaches (except Kalaloch)
Sunday, Nov. 25 (7:00 p.m. -1.8) Twin Harbors only
Monday, Nov. 26 (7:48 p.m. -1.6) Twin Harbors only
Beaches scheduled to open are:
Long Beach, which extends from the Columbia River to Leadbetter Point.
Twin Harbors Beach, which extends from the mouth of Willapa Bay north to the mouth of Grays Harbor.
Copalis Beach, which extends from the Grays Harbor North Jetty to the Copalis River, and includes beaches near Copalis, Ocean Shores, Oyhut and Ocean City.
Mocrocks Beach, which extends from the Copalis River to the southern boundary of the Quinault Reservation near the Moclips River, including Iron Springs, Roosevelt Beach, Pacific Beach and Moclips.
Reasons for action: Marine toxin tests found that clams on these beaches are safe to eat.
