Action: Recreational non-spot shrimp fishing will open at 7:00 a.m. June 1, 2005 on a daily basis in Marine Areas 8,9 (outside of the Port Townsend Shrimp District) and in Marine Area 11. The southern portion of the Port Townsend Shrimp District (south of a line from Kala to Walan Point) and the southern portion of the Discovery Bay Shrimp District (south of a line from Contractors to Tukey Point) will open on a daily basis to the harvest of non-spot shrimp.
Effective dates: 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2005
Species affected: Non-spot shrimp.
Location: All waters of Marine Areas 8,9,11, less than, or equal to150 feet, and the southern portions of the Discovery Bay Shrimp District (south of a line from Contractors to Tukey point) and Port Townsend Shrimp District (south of a line from Walan to Kala Point).
Reason for action: To provide shrimping opportunity for recreational shrimpers.
Other information: There will be a 150 foot maximum depth restriction in Marine Areas 8,9,11 and an area restriction in the Port Townsend and Discovery Bay Shrimp Districts. It is unlawful to possess Spot shrimp and all Spot shrimp caught must be returned to the water immediately. Shrimp heads may be removed, but all shrimp heads must be retained while in the field.
The public is reminded that on June 1, for those areas where spot shrimp is still
open, shrimp heads may be removed but all heads must be retained in the field
and spot shrimp must be measured.
