Recreational spot shrimp fishing season closing
June 14 in Port Angeles Shrimp District

Action: Recreational shrimp fishing for spot shrimp will close on June 14, 2003, at 9 p.m. in the Port Angeles Shrimp District, Marine Area 6. Non-spot (coonstripe and pink) shrimp fishing will remain open, but will be prohibited in all waters deeper than 150 feet. All spot shrimp caught must be returned to the water immediately unharmed.

Effective date: Saturday, June 14, 2003, at 9 p.m.

Species affected: Spot shrimp.

Location: All waters of the Port Angeles Shrimp District in Marine Area 6.

Reason for action: The recreational share of spot shrimp has been taken in the area covered under this rule. The 150-foot maximum fishing depth restriction is in effect to protect spot shrimp.
