Action: Open that section of the Skykomish River near Reiter Ponds Hatchery currently listed in the 2006/2007 sport fishing rule pamphlet as Closed Waters to fishing for gamefish.
Effective date: 4:00 a.m., June 24, 2006
Species affected: Steelhead, Trout, Dolly Varden/Bull Trout, and all other gamefish.
Location: Skykomish River along Reiter Ponds Hatchery located 1,500 feet upstream to 1,000 feet downstream of the hatchery outlet.
Reason for action: Reiter Ponds Hatchery has collected enough steelhead brood stock to meet egg take goals.
Other information: Fishing for salmon remains closed until Sept. 1 in the section of the Skykomish River 1,500 feet upstream and 1,000 feet downstream of the hatchery outlet. Fishing from a floating device is prohibited from June 24 through Feb. 28 and a night closure and non-buoyant lure restriction are in effect from June 24 through November 30.
