Release salmon with floy tag, hole punch in upper Columbia
Actions: Salmon with floy tags and/or one or more holes (round, approximately 1/4 inch in diameter) punched in the tail must be released.
Species affected: Sockeye and summer chinook salmon.
Effective date: Immediately until further notice.
Locations: Columbia River and tributaries from Priest Rapids Dam upstream to Chief Joseph Dam.
Reason for action: Salmon marked with floy tags and/or one or more holes (round, approximately 1/4 inch in diameter) punched in the tail have been anesthetized during various studies and should not be kept or consumed.
