Remove daily catch limit for brook trout,
brown trout, rainbow trout, burbot in Mill Pond

Action: Remove daily catch limit for brook trout, brown trout, rainbow trout and burbot in Mill Pond during the 2017 fishing season. This will allow enhanced harvest opportunity for anglers prior to the removal of the Mill Pond Dam.

Effective Dates: April 22 through July 16, 2017.

Species affected:

Brook trout, brown trout, rainbow trout and burbot - No min size/daily limit.

All other game fish - Statewide min size/daily limit.

Reason for action: Mill Pond Dam (located on Sullivan Creek in Pend Oreille County) will be removed as a mitigation measure for relicensing of Boundary Dam (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission No. 2144) beginning in the summer 2017. The reservoir's fish community is largely composed of non-native fish. WDFW has received requests from anglers to provide enhanced harvest opportunity for non-native fish in Mill Pond prior to dam removal.

Other information: All other current WDFW fishing regulations for the Sullivan Creek system remain in effect.

Information Contact: Bill Baker, WDFW, Colville District Office, (509) 684-2362 ext. 23.

Fishers must have a current Washington fishing license, appropriate to the fishery. Check the WDFW "Fishing in Washington" rules pamphlet for details on definitions and regulations.
