DATE: July 16, 2004
Action: Salmon fishing in Marine Area 1 (Ilwaco) and Marine Area 2 (Westport) extended to 7 days per week beginning Friday, July 23. The daily limit of two salmon may include up to two chinook.
Effective Date: 12:01 a.m. July 23, 2004
Species affected: Chinook and coho
Location: Marine Areas 1 and 2
Reason for action: Sufficient numbers of chinook and coho remain on the quotas to increase opportunity and allow the fishery to continue through the end of the season.
Other information: The minimum size for chinook remains at 26 inches and 16 inches for coho. Also beginning July 23, Marine Area 2-1 (Willapa Bay) and Marine Area 2-2 west of the Buoy 13 line (outer Grays Harbor) will also open 7 days per week and continue until the permanent regulations listed in the sport fishing pamphlet take effect. The permanent regulations take effect August 16 in Willapa Bay and Grays Harbor west of the Buoy 13 line closes beginning September 20.
