Action: Open part of the Skagit River to retention of hatchery spring chinook.
Effective dates: May 1 through May 31, 2019.
Species affected: Hatchery spring chinook.
Location: Skagit River (Skagit County) from the highway 536 bridge (Memorial Highway Bridge) in Mount Vernon to Gilligan Creek.
Rules and Regulations:
Up to 2 hatchery chinook (marked with a clipped adipose fin) may be retained.
Release all other species.
Night closure.
Reasons for action: Sufficient hatchery spring chinook are projected to return, allowing harvest.
Other information: Gamefish fisheries will remain closed. The fishery will be actively monitored and may close earlier if the number of total encounters (fish caught or retained) are met. Anglers are asked to cooperate with creel personnel collecting catch information.
