Sport Clam season extended at Illahee State Park

Action: The sport clam and oyster fishing season at Illahee State Park is opened April 1, 2006 through July 31, 2006.

Effective date: April 1, 2006 through July 31, 2006

Species affected: Oysters and all clams except razor clams.

Location: Illahee State Park, located in Kitsap County.

Reason for action: The oyster population at this beach is entirely the result of artificial enhancement and can support an extended sport fishery. The most important recreational clam population at this beach is the artificially-enhanced geoduck bed, which can also support an extended season.
