Sport clam season delayed at Dosewallips State Park

February 17, 2005

Action: The sport clam fishing season at Dosewallips State Park is opened April 1, 2005 through July 15, 2005.

Effective date: April 1, 2005 through July 15, 2005.

Species affected: All clams, except razor clams.

Location: Dosewallips State Park, located in Jefferson County on the east side of Hood Canal near Brinnon.

Reason for action: Recent surveys indicate a reduction in the clam population that requires a one-month reduction in the length of the season compared to 2004. The clam season opening is delayed to April 1, 2005. The oyster season at Dosewallips State Park is open year-round.
