Sport oyster season modified at Cushman Park

Action: The sport oyster fishing season at Cushman Park is closed immediately through April 30. This beach will open for oysters on May 1, 2006, through May 31, 2006.

Effective date: Immediately through April 30.

Species affected: Oysters.

Location: Cushman Park, in Mason County on the west side of Hood Canal.

Reason for action: The oyster season at this beach was formerly year-round. Recent surveys indicate that the oyster population will support only a limited season in 2006.
