Sport oyster season opened at Dosewallips State Park

Action: The sport oyster fishing season at Dosewallips State Park is opened year-round beginning January 1, 2005.

Effective date: January 1, 2005.

Species affected: Oysters.

Location: Dosewallips State Park, located in Jefferson County on the west side of Hood Canal near the town of Brinnon.

Reason for action: Dosewallips State Park has been open to sport oyster harvest from March 1 through December 31. Recent surveys indicate that the oyster population will sustain a year-round season.
