September 30, 2022
Action: Closes all fishing.
Effective date: Oct. 1 through Nov. 15, 2022.
Species affected: All species.
Locations:
- Stillaguamish River; from Marine Drive (south of Stanwood) to the forks.
- Stillaguamish River, North Fork; from mouth to North Fork Falls.
- Stillaguamish River, South Fork; from mouth to Granite Falls Fishway.
- Boulder River; from mouth to Boulder Falls.
- Canyon Creek; from mouth to forks.
- Pilchuck Creek; from mouth to Pilchuck Falls.
- Squire Creek (tributary of North Fork Stillaguamish).
Reason for action: Preliminary monitoring data indicate the Stillaguamish River sport fisheries are close to their allowable Chinook encounters and are in danger of exceeding the allowable total should these fisheries continue.
By Nov. 15, WDFW expects the majority of Chinook to no longer be present in the system and sport fisheries will resume under the rules listed in the 2022/2023 Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet.
Additional information: Anglers can be notified of all in-season rules changes as they are announced by signing up for WDFW Regulation Updates at wdfw.wa.gov/about/lists.
