Tulalip Terminal area fishery opening delayed until May 18

Action: The Tulalip Terminal Area Fishery (Tulalip Bubble) remains closed for salmon fishing through May 17.

Effective Dates: May 4, through May 17, 2012

Species affected: Salmon

Location: Waters of Marine Area 8-2 west of Tulalip Bay and within 2,000 feet of shore from the pilings at Old Bower's Resort to a fishing boundary marker approximately 1.4 miles northwest of Hermosa Point.

Reason for action: Delays the start of the salmon fishery at the Tulalip Bay Terminal Area by two weeks to accommodate the Tulalip Tribes’ ceremonial and subsistence fisheries.

Other Information: The Tulalip Terminal Area Fishery is only open Friday through 11:59 a.m. Monday of each week, May 18 through June 8 and June 10 through September 3. The fishery is closed on June 9. The daily limit is 2 salmon. Beginning Sept. 8, the area will be open only on Saturday and Sunday of each week through Sept. 23. Anglers will be allowed to use two fishing poles in the Tulalip Terminal Area from June 10 through Sept. 23, with the purchase of a two pole endorsement. All other regulations remain in effect.
