Tulalip Terminal Area salmon fishery changes

Action: Opens salmon seasons in Tulalip Terminal Area Fishery.

Effective date: May 29 through Sept. 7, 2020.

Species affected: Salmon .

Location: Tulalip Terminal Area - waters west of Tulalip Bay and within 2,000 feet of shore from the pilings at Old Bower's Resort to a fishing boundary marker approximately 1.4 miles northwest of Hermosa Point and not including waters east of a line drawn from Mission Point to Hermosa Point.

Rules: Salmon open 12:01 a.m. Friday through 11:59 a.m. Monday of each week. Chinook - min. size 22". Other salmon species - no min. size. Daily limit 2. Release all coho.

Waters east of a line drawn from Mission Point to Hermosa Point are closed to all fishing.

Reason for action: Low expected returns to the Snohomish River necessitate the release of coho. This fishery was agreed to with comanagers during the 2020 North of Falcon season-setting process.
