All hunters born after January 1, 1972 are required to show either a hunter education certificate or a previous year’s hunting license to purchase a Washington hunting license. Hunter education certificates are required for first-time license purchases. All hunter education graduates receive a free certificate from the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
New certificates
Duplicate certificates are printed on durable, credit-card-style plastic.
If you need a duplicate hunter education certificate or would just like the credit card style certificate, please go to ilostmycard.com. That service is provided by Washington’s hunter education course provider who retains the fee.
Out-of-state hunters
Washington residents hunting out-of-state often are required to show proof of hunter education course completion. Don't invest thousands of dollars on an out-of-state hunt and discover you can't go!
Enroll in a hunter education class long before you plan to leave on your hunt.
If you need a duplicate hunter education certificate, don't wait until the last minute! Order your duplicate hunter education card by going to ilostmycard.com.
