WDFW Beach Season Information
Clam and mussel seasons OPEN for harvest August 1 through August 31, 2025 only.
Oyster season OPEN for harvest year-round.
WDFW shellfish seasons indicate the specific times of year when harvesting is permitted. Before heading to the beach, please also check the Department of Health (DOH) information below which is related to health of the shellfish and may be updated daily. To harvest on this beach, it must be both during the WDFW approved season and approved by the DOH.
This is a good beach for Manila clams, native littleneck clams, and cockles. All three of these clam species can be found in a narrow band below the oyster beds. This band of clam habitat extends from southwest of the boat ramp east to the point (just west of the swimming area) and wraps around past the swimming area to the eastern park boundary. Department of Health does not recommend harvesting inside the swimming area that is marked off with lines and floats.
This is an excellent beach for oysters. The best spot for oysters is the west end of the park beach near the boat ramp in the "day use" portion of the park. Recreational harvesters are required to shuck oysters on the beach and leave the shells at the same approximate tide height where they were collected. These empty shells provide critical setting surfaces for young oysters.
